FP18R Overview

The Valcourt FP18R Dallaire II is a high-efficiency, EPA 2020 certified wood-burning fireplace built around a unique pair of retractable cast iron doors that slide laterally into both sides of the combustion chamber, freeing up the front for an unobstructed view of the flames. With the doors closed, the Dallaire II runs as an efficient long-burn heater capable of up to 8 hours per load on its 3.04 cu. ft. firebox; with doors open and the optional firescreen door (AC01226) installed, it provides the open-fire ambiance of a decorative unit while remaining EPA 2020 compliant.

This is the entry point into Valcourt's EPA-certified line. The Dallaire II ships with a premium 176 CFM blower included standard, has a 6-inch flue outlet (rather than the 8-inch on decorative units), and is backed by a 1.9 g/h particulate emissions rate well within EPA 2020 limits. Five faceplate louver styles and a black square faceplate are required to complete the install. Optional gravity and forced air kits, fresh air intake hardware, NightFlame ceramic glass, and the firescreen door are detailed in the manual. Fireplace Insider ships the FP18R nationwide; installation by a WETT or NFI certified installer is recommended for warranty coverage.

Warranty

Valcourt fireplaces are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty issued by Stove Builder International (SBI), the manufacturer of the Valcourt brand. The warranty is provided to the original retail purchaser at the original installation address and is non-transferable. Coverage begins on the date of purchase indicated on the invoice; if the invoice cannot be provided, the warranty period is determined by the date of manufacture stamped on the appliance. The original invoice must be retained as proof of purchase to claim warranty service.

Coverage applies to the firebox structure, body, and combustion components. Glass breakage from thermal stress is not covered, and the warranty excludes damage caused by improper installation, overfiring, use of fuel other than dry cordwood, normal wear of paint and refractory bricks, modifications to the appliance, and damage from chimney fires. Optional electrical components such as blowers carry a shorter coverage period, typically two years on parts.
