FP10RS Overview

The Valcourt FP10RS Lafayette IIS is the square-faceplate version of Valcourt's high-efficiency Lafayette platform, sharing the same EPA 2020 certified firebox, 176 CFM blower, and 1.2 g/h particulate emissions performance as the FP10R Lafayette II but with a modern square front rather than an arched profile. The 2.5 cu. ft. firebox and stainless-steel secondary-air system deliver up to 8 hours of burn time per load and a maximum heat output of 80,000 BTU/h.

The variant choice between FP10R and FP10RS is purely an aesthetic decision, combustion performance is identical. The FP10RS uses square-louver hardware (VA10LS series) rather than the arched VA10L series, and uses different door overlays (VA10RES07 and VA10RES40) matched to the square faceplate (VA10FS07). Five louver styles are offered: Classic, Arabesque, Urban, Mission, and Crown. Optional fresh air intake, gravity, and forced air kits are sold separately. Fireplace Insider ships the FP10RS nationwide; installation by a WETT or NFI certified installer is recommended for warranty coverage.

Warranty

Valcourt fireplaces are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty issued by Stove Builder International (SBI), the manufacturer of the Valcourt brand. The warranty is provided to the original retail purchaser at the original installation address and is non-transferable. Coverage begins on the date of purchase indicated on the invoice; if the invoice cannot be provided, the warranty period is determined by the date of manufacture stamped on the appliance. The original invoice must be retained as proof of purchase to claim warranty service.

Coverage applies to the firebox structure, body, and combustion components. Glass breakage from thermal stress is not covered, and the warranty excludes damage caused by improper installation, overfiring, use of fuel other than dry cordwood, normal wear of paint and refractory bricks, modifications to the appliance, and damage from chimney fires. Optional electrical components such as blowers carry a shorter coverage period, typically two years on parts.
