FP12R Overview

The Valcourt FP12R Mundo II is the contemporary, sleek-line member of Valcourt's EPA 2020 certified line, holder of an industrial design protection registration and built around a wide rectangular firebox profile measuring 50 1/4 inches across. Unlike the Lafayette and Dallaire II, the Mundo II ships without a blower as standard equipment, trading included accessories for a cleaner industrial-style faceplate appearance and a lower price point of entry.

An important install note specific to the Mundo II: the optional forced air kit (AC01363) can only be installed in combination with the Modern Gravity Kit (AC01389K), not the Traditional Gravity Kit. A fresh air intake is mandatory on the FP12R; the fireplace ships with the fresh air adaptor, but the inlet cap, flexible pipe, and straps must be ordered separately as listed in the installation manual. Exactly one required accessory group must be selected to complete the unit: the choice between Traditional and Modern gravity kit. Fireplace Insider ships the FP12R nationwide; installation by a WETT or NFI certified installer is recommended for warranty coverage.

Warranty

Valcourt fireplaces are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty issued by Stove Builder International (SBI), the manufacturer of the Valcourt brand. The warranty is provided to the original retail purchaser at the original installation address and is non-transferable. Coverage begins on the date of purchase indicated on the invoice; if the invoice cannot be provided, the warranty period is determined by the date of manufacture stamped on the appliance. The original invoice must be retained as proof of purchase to claim warranty service.

Coverage applies to the firebox structure, body, and combustion components. Glass breakage from thermal stress is not covered, and the warranty excludes damage caused by improper installation, overfiring, use of fuel other than dry cordwood, normal wear of paint and refractory bricks, modifications to the appliance, and damage from chimney fires. Optional electrical components such as blowers carry a shorter coverage period, typically two years on parts.
