WCT6940 Overview

The Superior WCT6940 is the flagship of Superior's EPA-compliant lineup and the only catalytic model in the family. Powerful catalytic combustion combined with insulation, ceramic glass, and a 350-cfm blower keep hot air streaming out of the firebox while cleanly burning more of the smoke and gases that lower-tier non-catalytic fireboxes release. The result is dramatically longer continuous burn times and higher heat output. An intricate facade outlines a broad pair of steel doors. The fireplace ships as a firebox shell - the WCT6940-FAC-BLK Facade and WCT6940-DOOR-BLK Doors are both REQUIRED to complete the installation.

Standard equipment includes textured white stacked refractory, cast iron log retainers, an efficient air-wash system, an outside air kit, and an outside air coupler. This model uses 7-inch Snap-Pak chimney (not the 6-inch chimney used by the other EPA models in this category); if you are replacing one of the other EPA models or planning a new install, make sure your chimney specification matches. Optional Forced Air Heating Kit available (no HeatFlo option for this catalytic model per price book). Approved for use with the IHP Brand 7-inch Snap-Pak insulated chimney.

Chimney sold separately. These EPA-compliant fireplaces require Superior Snap-Pak insulated chimney (IHP-brand model Snap-Pak). Most models use 6-inch Snap-Pak; the WCT6940 catalytic model uses 7-inch Snap-Pak. Chimney sections, elbows, terminations, and roof flashing must be ordered separately. Important EPA notice: The optional Forced Air Heating Kit was not included in the EPA emissions testing for this fireplace, and per Innovative Hearth Products it cannot be sold as EPA certified when the Forced Air Kit is installed. If your jurisdiction or installation requires maintained EPA certification (such as a Washington state installation, or any installation subject to EPA Phase II compliance), do not select the Forced Air Heating Kit option.

Warranty

The Superior WRT/WCT EPA Compliant Wood-Burning Fireplaces carry Innovative Hearth Products' 20-year limited warranty on the firebox body and ceramic glass against thermal breakage. Removable air tubes are warranted for 7 years from installation. Optional blowers and remote controls are warranted for 1 year. Coverage begins at the date of installation and is non-transferable. Damage from abuse, accident, improper installation, normal wear, chimney fires, burning unapproved fuels, or unauthorized modification is not covered. Proof of purchase required.

EPA Certification: These fireplaces are EPA-certified and must be installed and operated according to manufacturer instructions to maintain certification. The optional Forced Air Heating Kit was not included in EPA emissions testing, and using it voids the EPA certification per IHP. Buyers in jurisdictions with EPA certification requirements should not select the Forced Air Heating Kit option.
