The Carrollton 230 GL is the mid-size wood-burning fireplace insert in the Country Stoves lineup, sitting between the Scottsdale C160 entry insert and the larger Carrollton 300 flagship. It uses Country Stoves Thermal Fin Technology (TFT) cast-iron heat exchanger, the same technology found in the Georgetown 230 freestanding stove, to deliver 32 percent more heat-transfer surface than a standard insert design. The Carrollton 230 has a 2.3 cubic foot firebox, accepts logs up to 18 inches, outputs 76,000 BTU per hour, and heats 1,200 to 2,200 square feet. It fits into existing masonry openings as small as 25 wide by 21.5 tall by 15.5 deep.
Standard equipment includes a factory-installed 150 CFM variable-speed blower (the C160 and C210 inserts make this optional). Required separately purchased accessories are a warming top (steel or cast-iron) and a surround panel kit sized to the existing fireplace opening. Five surround panel sizes are offered to fit common openings: 26.5 by 41, 26.5 by 48, 31 by 41, 31 by 48, and a 33 by 48 trimmable. Optional accessories include decorative door trim in Nickel or Brushed Nickel, a Brushed Nickel louver (cast-iron top only), and a raised hearth cover plate.
