Valcourt FP16D St-Laurent Linear Wood Fireplace
ValcourtFP16D Overview
The Valcourt FP16D St-Laurent is a linear decorative wood fireplace designed around a wide panoramic glass surface and a rectangular profile that suits modern interiors. The signature feature is a guillotine-style ceramic glass door that slides discreetly under the hearth, paired with an integrated guillotine firescreen. Open the door for the immersive sound and ambiance of a true wood fire; close it for controlled, draft-managed combustion. Valcourt sells the FP16D as a base unit, with moulded refractory brick panels and a finishing trim selected separately to complete the install.
This is a decorative (EPA exempt) wood appliance built primarily for ambiance and supplemental heat, not as a primary heat source. The 30-inch maximum log capacity and 6.4 cu. ft. firebox are unusually generous for a linear unit, giving the FP16D a presence that is closer to a traditional masonry opening than to a vent-free contemporary box. The 8-inch chimney requirement and 765 lb shipping weight reflect the heavy-gauge construction. Fireplace Insider ships the FP16D nationwide; professional installation by a certified hearth installer is required.

Warranty
Valcourt fireplaces are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty issued by Stove Builder International (SBI), the manufacturer of the Valcourt brand. The warranty is provided to the original retail purchaser at the original installation address and is non-transferable. Coverage begins on the date of purchase indicated on the invoice; if the invoice cannot be provided, the warranty period is determined by the date of manufacture stamped on the appliance. The original invoice must be retained as proof of purchase to claim warranty service.
Coverage applies to the firebox structure, body, and combustion components. Glass breakage from thermal stress is not covered, and the warranty excludes damage caused by improper installation, overfiring, use of fuel other than dry cordwood, normal wear of paint and refractory bricks, modifications to the appliance, and damage from chimney fires. Specific component warranty periods and exclusions are detailed in full in the owner's manual; review it before registering your warranty at valcourtinc.com. Optional electrical components such as blowers carry a shorter coverage period, typically two years on parts.
