VRT2536 Overview
The Superior VRT2536 is the 36-inch Merit Series vent-free firebox in the VRT2500 lineup. This is a clean-faced heat-circulating firebox with a 24-inch tall and full-width refractory opening, factory-fitted with White Stacked refractory liners on the sides and back and a black metal floor. A factory-supplied heat deflection hood is included and is required for safe operation in all installations. The firebox ships with a junction box and mesh fire screens. Framing footprint: 42-1/4" wide x 40-1/4" tall x 20-1/2 inches deep.
This firebox is sold without a log set, burner, or gas valve; pair the VRT2536 with any ANSI Z21.11.2-listed vent-free log set of the appropriate size. The firebox accepts 24-inch vent-free log sets. Optional accessories include the textured iron arched twin-pane screen door, FBK-100 standard or FBK-200 variable speed blower kits, OAK-UVFRC outside air kit with duct, and the FWSK on/off wall switch. Listed by PFS Corporation to ANSI Z21.91 (PFS report F14-168).
This is a firebox only. A vent-free gas log set, burner, and gas valve must be ordered separately to complete the installation. The firebox accepts any ANSI Z21.11.2-listed vent-free log set of the appropriate size. Warranty
The Superior VRT Vent-Free Firebox Series carries Innovative Hearth Products' 20-year limited warranty on the firebox and body, covering parts and labor when installed by a listed IHP supplier. Refractory panels and Mosaic Masonry components carry a 1-year warranty against thermal breakage. Electrical components, fans, switches, and accessories carry a 1-year warranty. Paint, plating, and finish are excluded. Vent-free log sets, burners, and gas controls are sold separately and are warranted by their respective manufacturers. Coverage begins at the date of installation and is non-transferable. Damage from abuse, accident, improper installation, normal wear, or unauthorized modification is not covered. Proof of purchase required.
IMPORTANT: Vent-free fireboxes are NOT permitted in California or Massachusetts and may be restricted in other jurisdictions. Customer is responsible for verifying local code compliance before purchase.
