DRI2032 Overview

The Superior DRI2032 is a 32-inch Medium Direct-Vent Gas Insert, the larger of two Merit Series direct-vent inserts. Designed to retrofit into an existing wood-burning fireplace (zero-clearance or masonry), the DRI2032 transforms a standard wood fireplace into an efficient gas heating appliance. The 28,000 BTU pan burner system delivers up to 70% AFUE heating efficiency. Standard equipment includes a hand-painted aged oak ceramic fiber log set with glowing embers, ceramic glass front, factory-installed variable-speed 140-cfm blower, electronic ignition with IPI/CPI switch and battery backup (continued operation during power outages), black interior panels, and conveniently-placed manual controls for flame height and blower.

This insert ships configured for natural gas. For liquid propane installations, the BI32-CK-NG to LP conversion kit ($137) is required and sold separately. A Full Front Facade is REQUIRED to complete the installation - choose between the FP4125-BDVI32 facade (41" x 25", $561) or the FP4332-BDVI32 facade (43" x 32", $561). The optional FP4638-4S-MPDVI32 4-sided trimmable surround ($315) is compatible with the FP4125 facade only. Optional EF-BRCK basic remote or EF-WWRCK wireless wall-mount remote ($168 each) for added convenience. Listed to ANSI Z21.88 and CSA 2.33.

Direct-vent insert for existing fireplaces. This product is designed to retrofit into an existing wood-burning fireplace (zero-clearance or masonry). Confirm your existing fireplace dimensions before ordering: minimum opening width, height, and depth must accommodate the insert plus a Full Front Facade. Direct-vent installation routes flue gases through your existing chimney via a co-axial flex liner kit (sold separately). Full Front Facade is REQUIRED. This insert is sold as a firebox shell - a Full Front Facade must be selected at order time to complete the installation and meet 2015 ANSI Z21.88 safety barrier requirements. The new Full Front Facade design replaces the previous facade-plus-surround approach and includes a standard barrier. Two facade sizes are available to fit different fireplace openings. The optional 4-sided trimmable surround panels are compatible with the SMALLER facade option only - if you select the larger facade, the surround is not needed (the larger facade covers more area on its own).

Warranty

The Superior DRI Direct-Vent Gas Insert Series carries Innovative Hearth Products' 20-year limited warranty on the firebox body and ceramic glass against thermal breakage. Removable air tubes, ceramic glass against thermal breakage, and refractory components carry a 1-year warranty. Optional blowers and remote controls carry a 1-year warranty. Burner, gas controls, and electronic ignition components carry a 1-year warranty. Coverage begins at the date of installation and is non-transferable. Damage from abuse, accident, improper installation, normal wear, or unauthorized modification is not covered. Proof of purchase required.

Installation requirements: The DRI Direct-Vent Gas Insert is approved for installation in zero-clearance OR masonry fireplaces. The existing fireplace MUST be in good condition - no chimney damage, no missing dampers, no structural issues. A qualified hearth professional must verify the suitability of the existing fireplace and chimney before installation. Direct-vent components must be installed using approved IHP venting kits per the installation manual.
