MPI34-B Overview
The Mallard Point 34 is the largest insert in the premium Mallard Point family, designed for the largest existing fireplace openings (minimum 34 wide by 24 tall by 16 deep). Like the MPI32, it ships with a high-definition log set rather than the basic ceramic fiber logs of the MPI27. Output is 38,000 BTU per hour with a turn-down to 25,000 BTU, the highest output in the gas insert family. The 34's taller minimum opening height (24 inches versus 19.5 for the 32) is the key dimensional check before ordering.
Standard equipment matches the MPI32: high-definition logs, factory-installed variable-speed blower, electronic ignition with battery backup, ceramic glass barrier, and the Total Comfort Control full-function remote. Required separately purchased accessories are a façade (Vista at 472 dollars or Full View at 561 dollars in Black), a liner kit (Black Paint, Black Enamel Porcelain, Black Tie Stacked Ceramic, or Heritage Brown Stacked Ceramic), and a 34-specific surround panel (five sizes from 41 by 31 to 46 by 42 trimmable). Optional decorative accent trims in Aged Silver are offered.
