WRT8048 Overview

The Superior WRT8048 is the 48-inch Luxury Series masonry wood-burning fireplace, the top of the entire Superior wood-burning catalog. This fireplace features an astounding 42-inch tall opening paired with a low-profile, flush-to-hearth design (Hearth Spacer required for combustible floor applications, $1,685, sold separately). The firebox is fully insulated and comes standard with a rugged steel grate, decorative andirons, and mesh fire screens. The REQUIRED Mosaic Masonry firebrick liner is available in a Split Herringbone pattern in four classic colors: Ivory, Midnight, Slate Grey, and Warm Red.

This is a true wood-burning fireplace, approved for use with seasoned cordwood, vented gas log sets (ANSI Z21.60/Z21.84), or vent-free gas log heaters (ANSI Z21.11.2 with required IHP hood). The starting price shown ($9,679) already includes the Mosaic Masonry Split Herringbone interior ($4,830). All four colors are priced identically at this tier. The optional BDMO48EA Masonry Ceramic Glass Bi-Fold Door, Ebony ($3,932) provides the signature finishing touch. Combustible floor installations require the HS48 48-inch Hearth Spacer ($1,685). Chimney sold separately. This fireplace requires a Superior wood-burning chimney system. Smaller models (WRT/WCT 2000 and 3000 series) use 8-inch IHP chimney (8DM standard or 8HT high-temp; Canada requires 8HT). Larger models (WRT 3500/4500/6000/8000 series) use 12-inch IHP chimney (12DM standard or 12HT high-temp; Canada requires 12HT). Warranty

The Superior WRT/WCT Wood-Burning Series carries Innovative Hearth Products' 20-year limited warranty on the firebox and body, covering parts and labor when installed by a listed IHP supplier. Refractory panels, Mosaic Masonry components, and ceramic glass carry a 1-year warranty against thermal breakage. Electrical components, fans, switches, and accessories carry a 1-year warranty. Paint, plating, and finish are excluded. Chimney components, log grates, andirons, and parts not manufactured by IHP are warranted only as supplied by their respective manufacturers. Coverage begins at the date of installation and is non-transferable. Damage from abuse, accident, improper installation, normal wear, chimney fires, or unauthorized modification is not covered. Proof of purchase required.

This fireplace is approved for use as a wood-burning fireplace, with vented gas logs (ANSI Z21.60/Z21.84), or with vent-free gas log heaters (ANSI Z21.11.2). An IHP hood must be installed when using a vent-free log heater.
