WRE6042 Overview

The Superior WRE6042 is the 42-inch Signature Series outdoor masonry wood-burning fireplace, the flagship of the WRE6000 lineup. Designed for large outdoor applications, this insulated firebox features an industry-leading 30-inch tall opening height. The defining feature is the REQUIRED Mosaic Masonry brick interior, sold as a separate component and chosen by the customer at order time from sixteen options: four colors (Ivory, Midnight, Slate Grey, Warm Red) crossed with four patterns (Full Stacked, Full Herringbone, Split Stacked, Split Herringbone). Mosaic Masonry bricks are kiln-fired for an authentic hand-laid masonry appearance. Standard equipment includes stainless steel facing, mesh screens, and a heavy-duty grate.

This is a true wood-burning fireplace approved for use with seasoned cordwood, vented gas log sets (ANSI Z21.60/Z21.84), or vent-free gas log heaters (ANSI Z21.11.2 with required IHP hood). The starting price shown ($8,461) already includes the cheapest Mosaic Masonry interior choice (Full Stacked, $3,482). Other patterns add a delta to the base price. The BDMO42E bi-fold glass door (in ebony finish, designed specifically for Mosaic Masonry installations) is available as an optional accessory. Vents through 12-inch IHP wood-burning chimney. Chimney sold separately. This outdoor fireplace requires a Superior wood-burning chimney system. WRE 3000 series (36"/42") uses 8-inch IHP chimney (8DM standard or 8HT high-temp; cold climates and Canada should use 8HT). WRE 4500 and WRE 6000 series use 12-inch IHP chimney (12DM standard or 12HT high-temp). Chimney sections, elbows, terminations, and roof flashing must be ordered separately. Warranty

The Superior WRE Outdoor Wood-Burning Series carries Innovative Hearth Products' 20-year limited warranty on the firebox and body, covering parts and labor when installed by a listed IHP supplier. Refractory panels and Mosaic Masonry components carry a 1-year warranty against thermal breakage. Stainless steel facing, log grates, andirons, mesh screens, and accessories carry a 1-year warranty. Paint, plating, and finish are excluded. Chimney components and parts not manufactured by IHP are warranted only as supplied by their respective manufacturers. Coverage begins at the date of installation and is non-transferable. Damage from abuse, accident, improper installation, normal wear, weather exposure beyond design, chimney fires, or unauthorized modification is not covered. Proof of purchase required.

Outdoor installation: The WRE series is designed for covered or uncovered outdoor installation. Stainless steel construction provides weather resistance, but extended exposure to harsh weather may accelerate finish degradation. A protective cover during off-season periods and the optional Drain Pan accessory (WRE3000 series only) are recommended for installations subject to standing water.

This fireplace is approved for use as a wood-burning fireplace, with vented gas logs (ANSI Z21.60/Z21.84), or with vent-free gas log heaters (ANSI Z21.11.2). An IHP hood must be installed when using a vent-free log heater.
