WRT2042 Overview

The Superior WRT2042 is the 42-inch radiant clean-face Merit Series wood-burning fireplace in the WRT/WCT2000 lineup. The design presents a 'big box' look with an oversized brick-to-brick opening that maximizes the visible firebox without adding cost. Standard equipment includes a fully insulated firebox for cold-climate performance, white stacked refractory panels, a log grate, mesh fire screens, an adjustable barometric outside air damper, and a durable textured powder coat finish. The radiant smooth-faced design differentiates this WRT (radiant) model from its companion WCT (louvered) variant in the same series.

This is a true wood-burning fireplace, approved for use with seasoned cordwood, vented gas log sets (ANSI Z21.60/Z21.84), or vent-free gas log heaters (ANSI Z21.11.2 with required IHP hood). Vents through 8-inch IHP wood-burning chimney (8DM standard or 8HT high-temp; Canadian installations require 8HT). 8-inch chimney is the smallest in the Superior wood lineup, making this the easiest series to install in compact stack chases. Note: blower kits are NOT compatible with WRT radiant models; if heat circulation is a priority consider the matching WCT louvered version. Listed by PFS Corporation to UL 127, PFS report F09-171.

Chimney sold separately. This fireplace requires a Superior wood-burning chimney system. Smaller models (WRT/WCT 2000 and 3000 series) use 8-inch IHP chimney (8DM standard or 8HT high-temp; Canada requires 8HT). Larger models (WRT 3500/4500/6000/8000 series) use 12-inch IHP chimney (12DM standard or 12HT high-temp; Canada requires 12HT). Warranty

The Superior WRT/WCT Wood-Burning Series carries Innovative Hearth Products' 20-year limited warranty on the firebox and body, covering parts and labor when installed by a listed IHP supplier. Refractory panels, Mosaic Masonry components, and ceramic glass carry a 1-year warranty against thermal breakage. Electrical components, fans, switches, and accessories carry a 1-year warranty. Paint, plating, and finish are excluded. Chimney components, log grates, andirons, and parts not manufactured by IHP are warranted only as supplied by their respective manufacturers. Coverage begins at the date of installation and is non-transferable. Damage from abuse, accident, improper installation, normal wear, chimney fires, or unauthorized modification is not covered. Proof of purchase required.

This fireplace is approved for use as a wood-burning fireplace, with vented gas logs (ANSI Z21.60/Z21.84), or with vent-free gas log heaters (ANSI Z21.11.2). An IHP hood must be installed when using a vent-free log heater.
