WRE3042 Overview

The Superior WRE3042 is the 42-inch Pro Series outdoor wood-burning fireplace in the WRE3000 lineup, the entry to Superior's outdoor wood lineup. It pairs a radiant smooth-faced clean-face design with industry-leading textured refractory panels (your choice of White Stacked or White Herringbone), a stylish brushed stainless steel single-piece face, stainless mesh spark screens that retract into hidden side pockets, and a heavy-duty stainless steel log grate. Standard equipment includes an easy-access damper control, an adjustable outside air damper, full-length nailing flanges, drywall stops (for indoor-style finishing in a covered porch), and stainless steel construction throughout for long-lasting outdoor exposure.

This is a true wood-burning fireplace approved for use with seasoned cordwood, vented gas log sets (ANSI Z21.60/Z21.84), or vent-free gas log heaters (ANSI Z21.11.2 with required IHP hood). Vents through 8-inch IHP wood-burning chimney (8DM standard for most installations; 8HT recommended for cold climates and required for Canada). Three optional accessories tailored to outdoor use: the BDO42 bi-fold glass door ($393), the DP42 drain pan with stainless decorative face extension ($371, helpful for installations subject to standing water), and the HS42 stainless steel hood with 4-inch brow ($314, helpful for installations under partial overhangs). Chimney sold separately. This outdoor fireplace requires a Superior wood-burning chimney system. WRE 3000 series (36"/42") uses 8-inch IHP chimney (8DM standard or 8HT high-temp; cold climates and Canada should use 8HT). WRE 4500 and WRE 6000 series use 12-inch IHP chimney (12DM standard or 12HT high-temp). Chimney sections, elbows, terminations, and roof flashing must be ordered separately. Warranty

The Superior WRE Outdoor Wood-Burning Series carries Innovative Hearth Products' 20-year limited warranty on the firebox and body, covering parts and labor when installed by a listed IHP supplier. Refractory panels and Mosaic Masonry components carry a 1-year warranty against thermal breakage. Stainless steel facing, log grates, andirons, mesh screens, and accessories carry a 1-year warranty. Paint, plating, and finish are excluded. Chimney components and parts not manufactured by IHP are warranted only as supplied by their respective manufacturers. Coverage begins at the date of installation and is non-transferable. Damage from abuse, accident, improper installation, normal wear, weather exposure beyond design, chimney fires, or unauthorized modification is not covered. Proof of purchase required.

Outdoor installation: The WRE series is designed for covered or uncovered outdoor installation. Stainless steel construction provides weather resistance, but extended exposure to harsh weather may accelerate finish degradation. A protective cover during off-season periods and the optional Drain Pan accessory (WRE3000 series only) are recommended for installations subject to standing water.

This fireplace is approved for use as a wood-burning fireplace, with vented gas logs (ANSI Z21.60/Z21.84), or with vent-free gas log heaters (ANSI Z21.11.2). An IHP hood must be installed when using a vent-free log heater.
