ERT2036 Overview

The Superior ERT2036 is a 36-inch Merit Series traditional electric fireplace, designed to deliver classic fireplace charm with the modern convenience of electric operation. Standard equipment includes a realistic charred split-oak log set, a glowing multi-level LED ember bed, multi-level yellow and orange LED flame combinations for a lifelike traditional fire display, an adjustable LED ceiling light with three distinctive lighting settings for customizable atmosphere, and a smoke-reflective interior. The thermostatically-controlled electric heater delivers 5,000 BTU at 120V plug-in or 10,000 BTU at 240V hardwire installation, with an integrated blower for even heat distribution.

The slim 11-1/4-inch depth makes the ERT2036 easy to install in space-constrained applications - notably slimmer than gas fireplaces of comparable face dimensions. The unit ships with a 120V power cord included for standard plug-in installation, or can be hardwired to a 240V circuit by a qualified electrician for the higher 10,000 BTU output. A multi-function remote control is included as standard, providing control over flame effects, ember bed lighting, ceiling light, heater, timer, and power. Listed to UL 2021 and CSA C22.2 #46-M198 standards. Electric fireplaces have NO jurisdictional restrictions and can be installed in bedrooms, bathrooms, and any room nationwide.

Electric fireplaces have no jurisdictional restrictions. Unlike vent-free gas fireplaces, electric fireplaces produce no combustion byproducts, require no chimney or venting, and can be installed safely in bedrooms, bathrooms, and any other room. They operate at 99% efficiency (electrical-to-heat conversion) and are approved nationwide including California. The flame display is purely visual (LED-based) and produces no heat - the heater and blower are separate from the flame effect, so you can enjoy the ambiance with the heater off in warm weather.

Two installation modes - choose at install time, not order time. The ERT2036 is a single physical unit that operates at either 120V (5,000 BTU plug-in) or 240V (10,000 BTU hardwire). The same fireplace ships either way - the choice is made during electrical hookup. Plug-in mode uses the included 120V power cord on a dedicated 15-amp circuit. The Superior ERT2036 carries Innovative Hearth Products' 1-year limited warranty against defective materials and workmanship. Coverage begins at the date of installation and is non-transferable. Damage from abuse, accident, improper installation, normal wear, or unauthorized modification is not covered. Proof of purchase required.

Installation requirements: The ERT2036 is approved for built-in or recessed installation. 120V plug-in installation requires a dedicated 15-amp circuit; 240V hardwire installation requires a dedicated 20-amp circuit (10,000 BTU mode). Listed to UL 2021 and CSA C22.2 #46-M198 standards (Report #2048831). Approved for residential installations including bedrooms (electric fireplaces are NOT subject to vent-free jurisdictional restrictions).
