Superior WXS2021 Freestanding Wood-Burning Stove with Cast Iron Door
SuperiorWXS2021 Overview
The Superior WXS2021 is the larger of two WXS2000 Series freestanding wood-burning stoves, stepping up from the WXS2016 with a substantially larger 2.1-cubic-foot firebox, a heavier CAST IRON door (vs. steel on the WXS2016), and 76,000 BTU heat output (compared to 55,000 BTU). The larger firebox accepts longer logs and the cast iron door offers improved heat retention and a more substantial visual presence. Heats approximately 1,000 to 1,800 square feet. Standard equipment includes a black painted finish, black pedestal base, ceramic glass for an expansive view of the fire, high-density interior firebrick, baffle system, integral air-wash system, one-touch combustion control, and a 6-inch flue outlet.
The WXS2021 is EPA 2020 certified, meeting current federal emission standards. Listed by PFS TECO to UL 1482 and ULC S627 (PFS report 14-193) for residential and HUD-approved mobile home installations. Optional accessories include the BLWR-T-S150-B 150-cfm blower with Dial-A-Temp speed control ($496) for maximum heat circulation, the Outside Air Kit components (OAPCK panel and channel $144, UZI insulated flex $132, UZIAD flex adaptor $77, recommended for tightly-built homes), and the F5035 satin black touch-up spray paint kit ($73).
Chimney/stove pipe sold separately. The WXS2000 series uses a 6-inch flue outlet and requires a complete chimney system: 6-inch single-wall or double-wall stove pipe (black where visible indoors), Class A insulated chimney through ceiling/roof penetrations, and approved ceiling support, flashing, and termination. Stove pipe and chimney components are not included with the stove and must be ordered separately. Contact Fireplace Insider for stove pipe and chimney sizing assistance.
Outside Air Kit recommended for tightly-built homes. The optional Outside Air Kit (OAPCK Panel and Channel Kit, UZI 4-inch insulated flex air kit, and UZIAD flex adaptor) provides combustion air directly from outside the home. This is required or strongly recommended in tightly-sealed homes, mobile homes, or homes with mechanical ventilation systems where indoor air pressure could affect stove draft. A typical OAK installation includes all three components for approximately $353 total.
