HHT Fireside Finishings Zimmer Flush Wood Mantel
Hearth & Home TechnologiesOverview
The Zimmer Flush Wood Mantel is a Design-series flush surround from the Hearth & Home Technologies Fireside Finishings collection, designed to dress out a fireplace opening with a minimalist square-edge frame ideal for contemporary rooms. It frames the firebox on three sides (left leg, right leg, and shelf) and is sold as the mantel only; the fireplace, surround stone, and any base block are separate purchases.
Available finishes: Primed MDF. Primed MDF arrives ready for paint with a smooth, sanded surface. Where Unfinished Maple is offered, the mantel ships in raw maple suitable for custom staining at the jobsite or by a finishing shop. Custom factory-stained variants (Provincial, New Gray, Whitewash, Ebony) are available through the dealer order desk; a $420 / $430 / $440 upcharge applies for sizes A / B / C respectively.
About size codes A, B, and C: HHT uses A / B / C as size designations that pair the mantel with the matched fireplace's firebox class, not as fixed inch dimensions. In broad strokes:
- Size A typically pairs with 36-inch firebox-class fireplaces (for example: Heat & Glo 6K series, Heatilator A36R, Majestic BE36).
- Size B typically pairs with 42 to 48-inch firebox-class fireplaces (for example: 8K series, A42R, BE42, Mezzo 36 / 48 ST).
- Size C typically pairs with 50-inch and larger firebox classes (for example: I60, BIR50, Mezzo 60 / 72 ST, larger Echelon II).
The HHT Recommended Mantel and Surround Reference Sheet (included in the Fireside Finishings brochure linked below) lists the exact mantel size for every specific fireplace model. Always confirm the matched fireplace before ordering, and verify minimum clearance from the top of the firebox opening to the underside of the mantel shelf per the fireplace install manual.
