LAFV-18 Overview

The Grand Canyon LAFV-18 is the entry size in the Lava Burner Front View family, engineered to fit a 28-inch front opening and an 18-inch rear width. At this size, the GlowFire log technology delivers a fuller flame profile than a traditional 18-inch concrete log set while pulling fewer BTUs, which makes it a strong fit for smaller residential masonry fireplaces and zero-clearance wood-burning boxes that have been decommissioned for gas conversion.

What makes the Lava series different from a traditional log set is that each GlowFire log is individually orificed and ported. Fuel flows through the inside of the ceramic refractory log and out the porting on the surface, so the log itself burns rather than a steel burner tube sitting underneath. The result is a flame pattern that wraps around the wood texture and radiates substantially more heat back into the room than a concrete log set sitting on a conventional pan burner. Fireplace Insider ships the LAFV-18 nationwide. Installation must be performed by a licensed gas fitter and the unit must be installed in a fireplace approved for solid fuel burning, with a working flue.

Warranty

The Lava Burner Front View carries a multi-component warranty issued by Grand Canyon Gas Logs to the original purchaser:

• Burner: Lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects when installed indoors by a professional installer; one-year warranty if installed outdoors.
• GlowFire Ceramic Refractory Logs (sold separately): Lifetime warranty when installed indoors; two-year warranty when installed outdoors. Color fading from use is not covered.
• Valves, pilot assemblies, and electrical components: Two-year warranty against defects from date of purchase when installed indoors; one-year warranty when installed outdoors. Batteries are not covered. Warranty applies only when used with Grand Canyon Gas Logs burners and logs.

All warranties are limited to the original purchaser and require documentation of the purchase or installation date. Coverage does not include breakage from excessive handling once installed and fired, improper installation, or damage from weather exposure on indoor-rated components. Black paint finish, sheen, and discoloration from use are not covered. Prior to submitting a warranty claim, the Grand Canyon Gas Logs Technical Service Department must be contacted to diagnose and validate the faulty or defective part. An approved warranty claim qualifies for a $65 labor credit (single occurrence, single trip) applied to the dealer/distributor account.
